Concept Idea

Le Corbusier's centralised ramp within Villa Savoye as well as Casa Curutchet links all the levels to one another and acts as a kind of tornado- a centralised element that links, draws and pulls individuals upwards towards higher and higher levels. Following on from my initial 'direction' of re-integrating the Villa Savoye model into a new more contemporary context, I've decided to also integrate Le Corbusier's design approach with my own 'tornado' element within the architecture. The modified architecture will still utilise multiple levels and I will attempt to preserve Le Corbusier's key design approach (with his 5 points), but the architectural element that links these levels will be a modified  'modernised' version of the ramp.

Much like a tornado, the new centralised architecture will serve as a base or 'eye' and the surrounding interior and exterior architecture will be designed and influenced from whatever the centralised element will be. I will utilise a similar design approach to Le Corbusier's five point architectural aesthetic as it is similar to my tornado concept: the main bulk of the architecture will raise up from the ground and horizontal windows will be wrapped around the freely designed facade and/or the perimeter of the building.

Textures

The textures created reflect both the linking circulation of a centralised architectural element, the physical exterior architecture of Le Corbusier's Villa Savoye and Casa Curutchet, as well as my own tornadoconcept.
